National Post Wine of the Day

Exultet Estates “The Blessed” Chardonnay 2011

Prince Edward County, Ontario

90 points, ON $40.00

Exultet is Latin for song of rejoicing and this Chardonnay is something to sing about. Dense and textured, with stone fruit and citrus notes complemented by well-integrated oak. Good acid balance and a long generous finish. The wine is perhaps a bit more California than County, but an impressive and focused effort all the same.  Can be drunk now with grilled chicken or held for 4 to 5 years. Winner of the 2013 Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in Ontario Wines and a winery worth watching. Tasted March 2013. Janet Dorozynski,
